- Description:
- Don't let the title of this hike
confuse you. Although there exists an actual "Scotchman Peak
#2", this is just the second time I did Scotchman Peak. At
this point in the summer, I knew I was moving to Boise, so I wanted to
get this particular hike in one more time. I did it in 1998 with
Greg Schmeising, but it was worth returning to.
- I ran into a four people this
particular day, which was actually nice for a change. One of the
things I have taken for granted in northern Idaho is the solitude that is
experienced. I have been told this will come to an end in southern
Idaho. Because of the lack of population and wide area to hike, I
have been fortunate to be alone and run into very few people so
far. With more people and the draw of the back country more
appealing to the south, my days of seclusion will likely come to an end.
- Anyway, it was a great hike and
I will refer you to the 1998 hike for any limited directions that I
gave.

- The scenery didn't change except
for a bit less snow, so I will refer you to the 1998 hike for photos.
