- Description:
- This moderate hike leads to a
two story lookout tower that offers views of valley farmlands, green
foothills, and high mountains in the distance. It is located west
of Smith Ferry off of highway 55. From the highway it was a windy
drive past Sage Hen Reservoir to the trailhead.
- This was a relatively difficult
hike, but fortunately at only 2.5 miles in, it didn't last long.
Chuck and I made it to the lookout and had some fruit and a sandwich
while taking in the views in all directions. Nothing real exciting
as the hiking season was winding down for me, but I was glad to still be
on a trail in late October.
