- Description:
- I took the day off and couldn't waste the clear a.m. forecast, so I
went up to Loveland Pass and tagged Mount Sniktau. I didn't even
leave Denver that early, but was still back in Highlands Ranch at
11:30. By 1:00 p.m., I noticed the clouds had rolled in and I was
glad I decided against trying to make it to Grizzly Peak too. This
is a short hike that offered some good views of Grays and Torreys
Peaks. Although the skies were clear while I was up there, the
wind was strong on the ridge. I carried snow shoes, but they were
not required.
- Although have listed a few "Points" on my peak list from
other trips, I decided not to include Point 12915 and Point 13152 from
this trip because they were on the primary route that I took to Sniktau, and I
didn't have to go out of my way to reach them. They would be
extremely weak peaks to list anyway. I think they are listed on
maps for reference points without any great significance. Who knows, maybe I'll change my
mind down the road.
