- Description:
- Several of us had planned on heading to RMNP over the Thanksgiving Day
weekend, but the forecast was terrible calling for snow and high winds.
Jeff and I didn't want to waste the opportunity to climb so we went back
to Lincoln Falls despite just being up there the previous weekend.
The weather was bad from the start, and conditions were pretty much
"full on" for most of the day. We each led a pitch up the main
gully, and on top of the climb the gusts were really strong. We
initially thought it was going to be a "one and done" day, but on the
walk off of the main gully three guys from Rifle (CO) let us jump on the
top rope they set up on the right pillar. The pillar ended up
being really fun. Even though it is more vertical then anything in
the gully, the whole thing is totally hooked out. It was only
11:30 am once back at the base of the main gully, so we decided to give
it another run even though the weather remained miserable.
