- The Hanging Lake trailhead is off of I-70 in Glenwood Canyon just east
of Glenwood Springs. The trail runs along Dead
Horse Creek to Spouting Rock and Hanging Lake. I was working in
Glenwood Springs (CO) for the week and decided to be a tourist.
Monday night I rented a road bike and cycled up and down Glenwood
Canyon. The paved trail is 16.2 miles one way and runs along and
underneath the interstate. It was a fun ride and the first time I
had ever been on a road bike. Tuesday night I decided to hike to
Hanging Lake. I hadn't been there since 2006 and remember it
being a great hike to a neat lake and waterfalls. Ed decided to
join me for the trip this evening after work.
