Considering that I
moved to Boise in the summer of 2001, I still got out hiking a couple of times. I was
especially happy to finally hike Mount Borah, the highest peak in Idaho. I even
made into Glacier National Park with the family and did a little hiking in Utah too. Since the weather is much more cooperative in southern Idaho, my
hiking season may extend farther into the fall and also start earlier in the
spring.
My resource for
hiking in southern and eastern Idaho is a book by Tom Lopez titled "Idaho: A
Climbing Guide". This book breaks down every mountain range in
Idaho and provides information on peaks to climb, scramble, and hike
to.
