- August 9, 2007:
- I am over half way through the year and although I wanted to get as much
if not more vertical in than last year, I don't think it's going to happen.
This is somewhat disappointing considering that 2006 was well below both
2004 and 2005. I can say that I did more technical climbing at the end
of 2006 and beginning of 2007. I ice climbed through the beginning of
April and didn't go on an actual hike until May 6th. June actually
turned out to be a great snow climbing month for me as I took some time off
work specifically for this purpose. So in the three
months of May, June, and July I did 91 percent of my 50,000' I have climbed
so far this year.
- October 15, 2007:
- As predicted, it isn't likely I'll put in as much elevation as I have in
previous years. I'm even surprised I have 75K by mid October.
Alexander's Chimney and the North Face of Long's is starting to form ice.
I saw that Lincoln Falls is coming in nicely too. Since there is now
snow in the high country, I probably won't be hiking much and simply wait
for ice climbing season. I got a new set of ice tools and crampons I'm
waiting to try out.
- October 21, 2007:
- The Rockies play the first game of the 2007 World Series on Wednesday
night against the Boston Red Sox. Go Rox! I'm going to try and
get tickets tomorrow morning. I'm heading to the Ogden Theatre on
Tuesday night to catch Alice In Chains again. I just saw them a month
ago.
- December 2, 2007:
- I didn't get tickets to the Rockies thankfully as the Red Sox swept them.
The AIC concert was great other than the fact that I didn't home until 4:00
am. Needless to say, Kevin, Brian and I hit it pretty hard that night.
I'm happy to say that I've been out ice climbing a couple of times this year
already.
