- There are 9 mountains in Idaho over 12,000'. Hyndman Peak is located
in the Pioneer Mountains, Diamond Peak is in the Lemhi Mountains, and the
other seven are located in the Lost River Range. The easiest route on
all of these mountains is rated class 3. Some may argue that Leatherman,
Breitenbach, and Hyndman are no more than class 2+.
